This month's seasonal beer:Alt

Octobers's seasonal beer is an old classic, Alt. A beer brewed in the true Altbier manner, a burnished copper colour, and with a cooler fermentation and 2 weeks cold storage that leads to a crisp elegant and fresh flavour, with hints of gooseberry and citrus, made with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand.

Altbeers are brewed in and around the Dusseldorf Area in Germany. Alt in German means Old and references the fact that the beer is brewd in the old way of top fermentation as in the UK. Whereas most beers on the continent are bottom fermented
